Alan BolonSouth Africa

Alan is the Managing Partner of Aprais SA. With a career spanning over three decades in the marketing/advertising industry (both in South Africa and Canada), Alan has held senior marketing positions in various large SA/international FMCG companies. Over the latter stage of his career, he switched to the advertising fold, where the last 10 years were spent as Managing Director of JWT Johannesburg. He was also a board member of JWT SA and of Mindshare. During his most recent assignment, he worked on a host of blue-chip companies such as Kellogg’s, Unilever, Ford, Nestle, Kimberly Clark, Reckitt Benkiser, Diamond Trading Co (previously de Beers), LG Electronics, Kraft and a number of large locals in the banking, finance and insurance fields.

Every evening, Alan enjoys a sharing a bottle or so of good South African wine with his wife of 34 years. (Approximately 12,500 bottles shared to date!). He has 4 terrific kids – some residing in SA and others in Canada. He has recently become a doting granddad, and firmly recommends this experience.
